In the story The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, The main character, Amir, goes through almost his entire life feeling as though he is a bad person and a coward because of something he did when he was thirteen. By the end of the book Amir reaches closure and is able to forgive himself. If their was one word to sum up the theme of the book it would be forgiveness.
If there was one word to sum up the entire theme of the book it would be forgiveness. For example, when Amir was twelve he let something horrible happen to his servant, and best friend, Hassan. Then, he was mean to him afterward, and eventually Hassan and his father left. For the rest of his life Amir felt like a coward and never forgave himself. Eventually, Amir had closure and he forgave himself. He also learned that Hassan had been able to fogive him.
In conclusion, if there was one word to sum up the entire theme of the story it would be fogiveness. The theme of the story would probably be forgive yourself and forgive others.
